Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Clippie (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and your choices.

1. What We Collect

• Account info: phone number (verified via Firebase Auth), display name, profile photo, teams you follow.
• Content you create: game stats, video clips, highlights, comments, likes, and shares.
• Contacts (only after you grant access): if you grant Contacts permission and ask for a nomination on the waitlist, we upload one-way SHA-256 hashes of your contacts’ phone numbers so we can (a) tell you which of them are already on Clippie and (b) text you the moment one of them joins. We never upload contact names, never upload the original phone numbers, and never share these hashes with anyone. The hashes are deleted from our servers as soon as you’re admitted to the app, and you can revoke Contacts access any time in iOS Settings → Clippie. If you tap “Invite” next to a specific contact, that one contact’s phone number (in cleartext) is also uploaded so they can skip the waitlist when they sign up.
• Location (only with permission): approximate latitude/longitude attached to clips you record, so you can see where games happened on a map. You can deny or revoke this any time in iOS Settings.
• Device & analytics: iOS version, device model, app version, anonymous usage events (which screens you visit, which features you use). We use this to improve the product.

2. How We Use It

• To run Clippie (sign you in, deliver clips, calculate stats).
• To enable social features (showing your clips to followers, recognizing friends who already use Clippie).
• To moderate content and enforce our Community Guidelines.
• To improve the app and fix bugs.
• To communicate with you (push notifications you can disable in Settings, optional emails).

3. Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal information. We share data with:

• Service providers: Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, push notifications) and Apple (in-app purchases, push delivery). These vendors process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments.
• Other Clippie users: things you post publicly (your display name, profile photo, clips you upload, comments) are visible to other Clippie users by design.
• Law enforcement: only if we are legally required, or to protect users from imminent harm.

4. Data Retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, your clips, and your comments within 30 days. Anonymized analytics may be retained longer.

5. Your Choices

• Permissions: camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, and location are all opt-in. You can change them in iOS Settings → Clippie at any time.
• Block users: tap “...” on any clip and choose Block. Their content is removed from your feed instantly.
• Report content: tap “...” on any clip, comment, or profile and choose Report. We review every report within 24 hours.
• Delete your account: Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or email support@getbuzzer.io.

6. Children

Clippie is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Security

We use Firebase’s built-in encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong device passcode and biometric lock to protect your account.

8. International Users

Clippie is operated from the United States. By using the Service you consent to your information being processed in the US.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material we’ll notify you in the app. The “Last updated” date at the top tells you when.
